According to one estimate, the price of almonds in California during July and August was $1.70/1.80 per pound, which has now increased to $2.30/2.35 per pound. At the beginning of July, the dollar price was ₹85.60, which has now increased to ₹90.44.

Imports

However, during January-November, almond imports were higher than last year. According to information received, almond imports during January-November 2024 were 10,208 containers, while in January-November 2025 they increased to 11,536 containers. Almond imports during November 2025 were also higher than last year. In November last year, imports were 643 containers, while in November 2025 they were 832 containers. The highest imports during April and July were 1,454 and 1,453 containers, respectively.

High Production

According to a USDA report, almond production in California is also projected to be high during the current season. According to the report, production during the current season is estimated at 3,000 million pounds, while production during 2024 was 2,730 million pounds. In 2023, production was 2,455 million pounds. In 2020, peak production was 3,115 million pounds.

No recession

Experts say that there is no possibility of a decline in the current prices of almonds. Because imports decreased in November compared to October. Furthermore, the price of almonds in California has also increased. The dollar is also strengthening. Due to this, traders are predicting an increase of 30-40 rupees per kg in almond prices in the coming days. Currently, the price of American almonds in the Delhi market is being quoted at 830-835 rupees per kg, which was 800-810 rupees per kg at the beginning of this month.
