Preparation of roadmap for the development of national cooperative federations

New Delhi. The Central Government is preparing a road map for the development of national level cooperative federations,
while the primary cooperative societies active at the rural level have started offering booking of railway tickets and booking of air tickets will also start there soon.
While chairing the first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Cooperation, the Union Minister of Cooperation, while giving information about the achievements of this ministry to the members, also informed the members about some upcoming projects.
The Minister told the Committee that a road map has been prepared for the rapid development of national level federations related to the field of cooperation.
Efforts will be made to develop and expand these federations with the cooperation of Fertilizer Corporations (Cooperative Federations), KRIBHCO and IFFCO as well as National Dairy Development Board (NDDBO).
According to the Cooperation Minister, model sub-rules have been prepared for Primary Cooperative Societies (PACS) which will prove to be beneficial from the economic point of view.
It has been adopted in all the states and many of these societies (PACS) have started expanding their business in other activities and areas. PACS are now engaged in more than 20 activities and have started providing all essential services.
This includes Common Service Centres and Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The PACS which are currently engaged in booking railway tickets will soon be able to book air tickets also.
The data of cooperative institutions at the national level is almost ready and necessary information can be obtained from it.
