Price of cumin softens due to supply of new goods and weak demand

It seems like the cumin market in Gujarat is experiencing a period of softening prices due to the increase in the supply of new goods and weak demand from buyers.

With the arrival of the new crop and a daily average of 6-7 thousand bags being sold at the Unjha market, stockists are beginning to withdraw their older stock in anticipation of further price declines.

Even though the sowing area for cumin has decreased this season compared to the previous one, the weather conditions have been favorable, leading to a promising crop.

However, the overall market sentiment remains cautious due to the lack of strong domestic and export demand. This could result in a continued softening of prices in the short term.

If the demand doesn't pick up during the March-April period, the market might continue to see low prices.

But after this phase, there is an expectation of stabilization, possibly leading to a stronger market during the off-season as the supply from the new crop reduces.
