The export offer prices for various pulses from Myanmar, Brazil, and Australia have shown slight fluctuations in recent weeks, particularly affecting the prices of urad, desi chana, and other pulses.

  1. Urad (Black Gram):

    • Brazil: The export price for urad for shipment from Brazil to India has decreased by $10 per tonne. It was $1040 per tonne on December 12, 2024, and dropped to $1030 per tonne by December 19, 2024.
    • Myanmar: Similarly, Myanmar's offer prices for urad have also declined. The FAQ (Fair Average Quality) urad for shipment from Myanmar to India fell from $925 per tonne to $915 per tonne for December-January shipments. The SQ (Special Quality) urad also saw a decrease, from $1025 to $1015 per tonne.
  2. Desi Chana:

    • Australia: The export offer price of desi chana from Australia for December-January shipments remained steady at $690 per tonne. However, for the January-February shipment, the price dropped slightly from $680 per tonne to $675 per tonne. This reduction in price is attributed to the strong supply of new chana in the market.
  3. Green Lentils:

    • Canada: The export offer price of green lentils for shipment from Canada to India for January-February remained unchanged at $1180 per tonne.
  4. Yellow Peas:

    • Canada & Russia: The export offer prices for yellow peas remained stable. From Canada, the price remained at $450 per tonne, while from Russia, it stayed at $405 per tonne for December-January shipments.
  5. Pigeon Pea (Tuvar):

    • Myanmar: The export price for pigeon pea, also known as tuvar, from Myanmar to India remained steady at $960 per tonne for December-January shipments.
  6. Yellow Peas:

    • Indian importers are not actively contracting yellow peas for upcoming months, as the duty-free import period is set to expire on December 31, 2024.

These price trends indicate moderate adjustments in some pulse prices, driven by supply conditions, with a more stable outlook for certain commodities like green lentils and yellow peas.
