USDA reported a private export sale of 312,000 MT of soybeans to China this morning.
USDA’s Export Sales data for the week ending October 16 showed 1.1 MMT of soybean sales, falling within the trade expectation of 0.6–2 MMT. It was the first week of the marketing year to exceed the 1-MMT mark, up 41.2% from the previous week, though still 56.9% below last year. Up to that point, China had not made any purchases.
Soybean meal sales totaled 543,119 MT, an improvement over the prior week. Soybean oil sales for 2025/26 were reported at 19,133 MT for the week of 10/16.
The report for the week ending October 23 will be released Monday morning. Analysts expect soybean sales of 0.6–1.6 MMT, soybean meal sales of 50,000–500,000 MT, and soybean oil sales of 5,000–25,000 MT.
Agroconsult estimates Brazil’s 2025/26 soybean crop at 178.1 MMT, which is 6 MMT higher than last year.
