USDA continued updating its delayed Export Sales reports this morning, showing 1.248 MMT of soybean sales for the week of October 30. This was mid-range of trade expectations (0.6–2 MMT), but still 13.9% below the previous week and 48.7% below the same week last year. Purchases by China totaled 232,000 MT that week — their first notable appearance.
Soybean meal sales fell to 219,830 MT, on the low end of expectations (200,000–450,000 MT). Soybean oil bookings were reported at 4,664 MT, below the 5,000–25,000 MT estimated range.
Statistics Canada updated its 2025/26 production estimates, pegging canola output at 21.8 MMT — up 1.3% from last year and 1.8 MMT higher than the September estimate. Actual soybean production was seen at 6.79 MMT, down 10.2%.
Brazil's trade ministry reported November soybean exports at 4.2 MMT, down 37.62% from the previous month but 64.4% higher than the same month last year. ANEC estimates December exports at 2.81 MMT, which would be 1.34 MMT higher than last year if achieved.
