According to the annual Prospective Plantings report released by NASS, soybean planting intentions for this spring are estimated at 84.7 million acres. This is 3.485 million acres higher than last year, but 787,000 acres below the average trade estimate.
According to the quarterly Grain Stocks report, soybean stocks as of March 1 were recorded at 2.105 billion bushels. This is 194 million bushels higher than last year. It was also 19 million bushels above the Bloomberg trade estimate and 38 million bushels higher than the Reuters survey.
