Stability in prices of Urad

Urad prices have shown little fluctuation this month, with weak arrivals in local mandis.

Mumbai FAQ is trading between ₹8000–₹8200.

High Prices Relative to MSP:
Imported Urad prices exceed the Minimum Support Price (MSP), and mandi prices remain high.
Production Concerns:
Domestic production was impacted due to a decrease in the Kharif season output and a reduction in Rabi planting area.
Heavy Imports:
A substantial amount of Urad has been imported to meet domestic demand.
Myanmar Crop Outlook:
Myanmar is expected to produce a bumper Urad crop this year, supported by strong export demand.
Dependence on Imports:
Despite domestic efforts, India's Urad consumption will largely rely on imports to ensure adequate supply.
