Strong Preparations for Government Procurement of Kharif Crops

Haryana: The state government is making extensive arrangements for the procurement of Kharif season pulses and oilseed crops from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The government procurement of these crops will begin on different dates.

The procurement of moong will start first from October 1 and continue until November 15. The government will purchase moong at an MSP of ₹8,780 per quintal through 38 mandis across the state.

Similarly, soybean procurement will begin on October 15 and continue until November 30. This year, soybean procurement has been planned at 7 mandis in the state at an MSP of ₹5,708 per quintal. Soybean cultivation in Haryana is limited to a small area.

The MSP for groundnut has been fixed at ₹7,517 per quintal, and its procurement will be carried out in 17 mandis of Haryana from November 1 to December 31.

Procurement of sesame will begin from December 1. On the same day, government procurement of arhar (tur) and urad will also start. A total of 27 mandis have been identified for sesame procurement, 22 for arhar, and 10 for urad.

For the 2026-27 season, the MSP has been fixed at ₹10,346 per quintal for sesame, ₹8,450 per quintal for arhar, and ₹8,200 per quintal for urad.

Although Haryana is not among the leading states in the production of Kharif pulses and oilseeds, the commencement of government procurement at MSP is expected to provide better price realization to farmers. This may encourage farmers to increase their interest and participation in the cultivation of these crops.
