Sudhakar Desai Re-elected as IVPA President

New Delhi: The CEO of Emami Agrotech Ltd. has been re-elected as the President of the Indian Vegetable Oil Producers Association (IVPA). Other senior office-bearers were also elected during the association's 19th Annual General Meeting. Sumit Mittal (Louis Dreyfus), Somnath Chatterjee (ITC Foods), Dhritman Biswas (Cargill India), and V.K. Jain (Patanjali Foods) were elected as Vice Presidents.

Upon his re-election as IVPA President, Sudhakar Desai stated that the Indian vegetable oil industry is deeply integrated with global commodity and food markets, a trend that is set to continue. India remains the leading importer of vegetable oils.

The domestic vegetable oil industry and trade sector face numerous challenges, including issues related to trade, supply security, competition, sustainability, and the needs of Indian consumers. The IVPA will continue its efforts to unite the entire vegetable oil industry and play a significant role in policy discussions. The association maintains a strong presence within the oilseed and vegetable oil industry and trade sector.
