Buyers of moong remain calm due to increasing pressure of arrivals
New Delhi. Moong prices have seen a downward trend this week due to the increase in the arrival of summer new moong in the major producing markets and sluggish demand. With the increase in arrivals in the markets, there has been an increase in selling by stockists, which has further increased the pressure on the market. Government agency National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) is also continuously selling moong, which is not supporting the prices. According to experts, if the demand does not improve and the sale of NAFED continues like this, then the prices of moong may fall further in the near future. Due to increased selling pressure and weak buying by dal millers, prices of Delhi moong declined by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs. 7750/7800 in Madhya Pradesh line and Rs. 7150/7500 per quintal in Uttar Pradesh line.
