Slight softening in mustard prices due to weak demand at high prices

New Delhi. For some time, there was an environment of ups and downs in the prices of mustard, but during the week of 4-10 October, due to weak demand from millers and traders at high prices, its prices softened by 50-100 rupees per quintal.
42% condition mustard
The price of 42 percent condition mustard fell by 50 rupees to 6700 rupees per quintal in Delhi and 75 rupees to 6900/6925 rupees per quintal in Jaipur. There was a softening of 25 rupees in Gujarat mandis and up to 50 rupees in Haryana. In Madhya Pradesh's Morena and Porsa, the price of mustard was 50 rupees higher while in Gwalior it was 50 rupees lower. The price of mustard in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur market fell by Rs 100 to Rs 6950 per quintal and in Agra it fell by Rs 75 to Rs 7100/7650.
Rajasthan
The biggest fall in mustard prices was seen in the most important producing state- Rajasthan. There, Ganganagar and Bundi recorded a fall of Rs 200-200 per quintal and Newai and Tonk recorded a fall of Rs 150-150 per quintal, while Bharatpur, Alwar and Khairthal witnessed a decline of Rs 100-105. The price of Kota mustard increased by Rs 100 to Rs 6000/6600 per quintal. The minimum support price of mustard is fixed at Rs 5650 per quintal, while the wholesale market price is above Rs 6000 per quintal.
Mustard oil
Due to softening of mustard prices, the price of mustard oil also fell by Rs 20 to Rs 30 per 10 kg. The price of expeller in Delhi fell by Rs 20 to Rs 1380 per 10 kg. Along with expeller, the price of Kachi Ghani mustard oil also decreased. The price of Kachi Ghani oil fell by Rs 30 in Hapur, Rs 20 in Agra and Rs 30 per 10 kg in Kota.
Arrival
Arrival of mustard was recorded at 3.25 lakh bags on October 4, 2.50 lakh bags on October 5, 3.50 lakh bags on October 7, 3.50 lakh bags on October 8, 3 lakh bags on October 9 and 2.65 lakh bags on October 10. Each mustard bag weighs 50 kg. Due to high market price, good arrival of mustard is happening in the markets. Its sowing season has also started and in view of the high price, some increase in the area is expected.
