Peanut prices improve due to good business in UP markets

New Delhi. Although the price of peanuts remained stable at the previous level due to limited arrival of goods and sluggish business in the markets of Gujarat and Rajasthan, but due to some business at lower prices in the markets of Uttar Pradesh, prices increased by up to Rs 200 per quintal. During the week from 30 August to 5 September, the price of peanuts remained at the previous level of Rs 5300 per quintal in Bikaner and Rs 6500 per quintal in Solapur, Maharashtra, while in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, it increased by Rs 200 to Rs 4800/5400 per quintal and in Mauranipur, it increased by Rs 175 to Rs 4650/4975 per quintal. There was no change in the price level of Rs 4500/5000 in Jhansi. 
Arrival
The average daily arrival of peanuts was recorded at 750-1500 bags in Jhansi, 125-225 bags in Mahoba and 225-450 bags in Mauranipur.
Peanut Seeds
The business of arrival of peeled peanuts was also sluggish and the demand of millers and exporters was weak. Import of Indian peanuts in Indonesia has been temporarily banned, which has started affecting the domestic market. The price of peanut seeds in Bikaner remained stable between Rs 8300 to Rs 9000 per quintal. But in Solapur, the price of 50/60 count seeds improved by Rs 100 and reached Rs 10500 per quintal.
Peanut Oil
The price of peanut oil in loose form increased by Rs 25 to Rs 1350 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh and Jamnagar of Gujarat. The 15 kg teliya tin also increased by Rs 30 to Rs 2160. Ahmedabad saw a rise of Rs 30.
Branded oil
The price of branded groundnut oil fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2350 per quintal in Kota as demand from buyers remained weak, but due to some buying and selling in filtered groundnut oil, its price increased by Rs 15 to Rs 25 per 10 kg in Jaipur and Newai.
Groundnut oil cake
There was very little business in groundnut oil cake, but the price of DOC remained mixed to some extent. Kharif season groundnut sowing has almost ended.
