Peanut prices remain high in Gujarat despite good supply
New Delhi. Gujarat, the leading producer state, is experiencing a good inflow of new peanuts, with government agencies and trading firms buying them heavily. Similarly, in Solapur, Maharashtra, peanut prices rose by ₹300 to ₹7,500 per quintal. Meanwhile, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, prices fell by ₹200 to ₹5,500 per quintal. In Jodhpur, prices remained at ₹6,000/₹6,500 per quintal.

A mixed trend was observed in the markets of Uttar Pradesh. Peanut prices softened by ₹100 in Jhansi and ₹200 in Mauranipur, while they rose by ₹100 in Mahoba to ₹5,500/₹6,300 per quintal. Good arrivals are expected in these three markets.
Peanut Seeds
Prices of shelled peanuts rose by ₹200-₹400 per quintal in Bikaner due to strong demand from crushers, processors, and exporters, but fell by ₹100-₹300 per quintal in Solapur and Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Peanut Oil
Due to improved trading in loose peanut oil, prices improved by ₹25 to ₹1,525 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar, Gujarat. The price of a 15 kg tin of oil also rose by ₹80 to ₹2,430 in Rajkot. Peanut oil prices also remained firm in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. This is attributed to the improvement in peanut prices.
Branded Oil
The price of branded peanut oil remained stable at Rs 2,850 per tin (15 kg) in Kota, and there was no significant fluctuation in the prices of filtered peanut oil in Jaipur and Newai.
Peanut DOC
Trading in peanut DOC was normal or below normal, which maintained a significant degree of stability in prices. Government procurement of peanuts continues in full swing.
