Pea prices rise due to strong demand
Kanpur. Pea prices remained on the rise during the current week due to the slowdown in selling at low prices and strong demand. Seeing the weak arrival in the producing markets, the buying of stockists and millers increased, which supported the rising prices of peas. Due to slowdown in selling by importers and better buying, the prices of imported peas saw a rise of Rs 100/175 per quintal this week and the prices became Mumbai Canada Rs 3725/3750, Russia Rs 3600/3525 and currency Canada Rs 3650 and Russia Rs 3550 per quintal at the weekend. Due to the support of the rise in imported peas and strong demand, the prices of Desi peas also saw a good rise. Due to better demand, Kanpur pea prices registered a rise of Rs 200 per quintal this week and the prices became Rs 3900 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Lalitpur peas also registered a strong increase of Rs. 300/350 per quintal this week and with this increase the prices became Rs. 3500/3750 per quintal at the weekend. Due to increase in demand, Rath peas also registered a rise of Rs. 150 per quintal this week and the prices became Rs. 3400/3700 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mauranipur peas also increased by Rs. 250/300 per quintal and became Rs. 3550/3650 per quintal at the weekend. Due to strong demand, Orai peas registered a rise of Rs. 225 per quintal this week and with this increase the prices became Rs. 3400/3625 per quintal at the weekend. Due to support of bullish trend and buying from all quarters, prices of peas in Madhya Pradesh have increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and at the weekend, prices reached Rs. 3550/3700 in Damoh and Rs. 3350/3550 per quintal in Bina.

Due to sluggish demand, prices of peas have fallen by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and at the weekend, prices remained at Rs. 4050/4150 in Kanpur and Rs. 4200/4350 per quintal in Indore.
