Plant delivery price of soybean is soft in MP-Rajasthan but strong in Maharashtra

New Delhi. Although the peak season of soybean supply is almost over, its price has still not increased as expected in the markets. Even the record quantity of purchases made by government agencies did not have a significant positive impact on the prices.

Plant Delivery Price

During the week from 29 March to 4 April, the plant delivery price of soybean remained soft in Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Rajasthan, but due to good purchase of plants in Maharashtra, some improvement was recorded in the prices. In all the states, the price of soybean is running far behind the minimum support price of Rs 4892 per quintal. The plant delivery price in Maharashtra has reached between Rs 4550-4650.

Soy Oil (Refined)

The demand for soy refined oil remained weak, due to which prices fell by 1 to 3 rupees per kg. However, its price improved by Rs 10 to Rs 1290 per 10 kg in Mumbai, but softened by Rs 5 each in Kandla and Haldia. The price of soya refined oil was recorded between Rs 1280 to Rs 1305 per 10 kg in different mills.

Arrival

In the markets of major producing states, 1.40 lakh bags of soyabean arrived on April 2 and 1.65 lakh bags on April 3, while each bag is of 100 kg.

Soya DOC

Good demand was seen in soya DOC from domestic consuming industries as well as exporters, due to which its prices rose by Rs 1000 to Rs 2500 per ton. In a mill in Madhya Pradesh, the price jumped by Rs 4400 to Rs 29300/32900 per ton. At lower prices, soya meal was also in good demand in animal feed and poultry feed manufacturing industry. This gave some relief to soya crushing plants.

Soya oil

The price of soya oil in foreign countries is fluctuating within a limited range. Industry and trade sector analysts have predicted an increase in soyabean oil imports in March. Soyabean sowing will begin in June. Government agencies have a huge stock of soyabean.
