Soybean prices fluctuate according to demand and lifting
New Delhi. Millers-processors of Madhya Pradesh showed some interest in buying soybean during the week of 30 August-5 September, due to which the plant delivery price of this important oilseed improved by 50-60 rupees per quintal there. But the situation was opposite in Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Due to weak demand there, the price of soybean fell by up to 100 rupees per quintal. The plant delivery price of soybean was recorded at Rs 4600/4700 per quintal in these states, which is below the support price.
Soya Refined
But due to good demand for soya refined oil, its prices increased by 2-3 rupees per kg. Actually, due to the festive season and good news from abroad, the price of soybean oil has strengthened a bit. The price of soya refined oil in Madhya Pradesh plants improved by 10-20 rupees per 10 kg while in Maharashtra it increased by 25 rupees per 10 kg. The price of soya refined oil remained stable at 1275 rupees per 10 kg in Kota but improved by 10 rupees to 1240 rupees per 10 kg in Kandla, increased by 20 rupees to 1270 rupees in Mumbai and increased by 25 rupees to 1235 rupees per 10 kg in Haldia. The price of crude degummed soyabean oil imported from abroad at Kandla port remained somewhat soft and a decline of 17 dollars per ton was recorded.
Soya Cake (DOC)
No significant change was seen in the prices due to sluggish business of soya DOC in Madhya Pradesh but due to weak demand in Maharashtra, prices declined by 300 to 700 rupees per ton. The demand for soya meal is being affected due to the increasing consumption of Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS).
Production
The area under soyabean production is less this time than last year and there are reports of damage to the crop due to heavy rains and floods in some areas. Due to this, the next production is expected to decrease somewhat. The preparation and harvesting of the new early crop is likely to start in the next one or two weeks, while its pace will increase from October.
