Buying of Tuvar weak due to lack of customer support
Mumbai. Tuvar prices declined during the current week due to increased selling at higher prices and sluggish demand. Due to lack of lifting of Tuvar dal, the buying of stockists and dal millers remains limited, due to which there is pressure on prices. With the arrival of new crop in Myanmar, the quantity and speed of its export shipment is increasing. The latest data from the Overseas Agri Trade Association (OATA) shows that the January 2025 Tuvar exports from Myanmar increased from 5606 tonnes in January to 29.250 tonnes in February and jumped to 42,147 tonnes in March. Importers' selling increased due to increased availability of imported Tuvar at the port. Due to increased selling and weak demand, Chennai Tuvar Lemon witnessed a decline of Rs. 150 per quintal during the current week and with this decline the price of Lemon became Rs. 6900/6950 per quintal. Whereas no increase or decrease was observed in the prices of Mumbai African Tuvar this week and the price remained at Mozambique White Rs. 7100/7200, Gajari Rs. 6900/6950, Malawi Rs. 6850/6900, Dodomo Rs. 6850/6900 per quintal at the end of the week.
Burma
Due to increased selling by exporters and slow buying, no increase or decrease was observed in the prices of Burma Tuvar this week and with this increase and decrease the price remained at $ 820 per ton at the end of the week.
Delhi
Due to the impact of port fall and sluggish demand, during the current week, Delhi Tuvar Lemon witnessed a fall of Rs. 75 per quintal and Desi Tuvar also witnessed a fall of Rs. 50 per quintal and with this increase, the price at the weekend remained at Rs. 7400 for Lemon and Rs. 7550/770 for Desi.
Maharashtra
Due to weak demand from dal millers and stockists, Tuvar prices witnessed a fall of Rs. 75/150 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the price at the weekend became Rs. 6500/7450 for Solapur, Rs. 7550/7750 for Akola, Rs. 7650/7675 for Nagpur and Rs. 6800/7450 for Dudhni.
Karnataka
Due to increased selling and weak buying, Karnataka tuvar prices witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/150 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the weekend prices became Gulbarga Rs. 6500/7619, Raichur Rs. 6967/7425, Yadgir Rs. 5501/7510 and Talikot Rs. 6987/7511 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to weak demand from dal millers, Madhya Pradesh tuvar prices witnessed a decline of Rs. 200 per quintal this week and with this decline, the weekend prices became Katni Rs. 7400/7600, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/7200, Pipariya Rs. 6500/7600 and Kareli Rs. 4001/7251 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round fall and weak buying, the price of Raipur Tuvar fell by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and remained at Rs. 7750/7950 per quintal at the weekend. Whereas the prices of Kanpur Tuvar increased by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 6900 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Due to the impact of fall in Tuvar prices and weak demand, Tuvar Dal prices have fallen by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the weekend prices stood at Delhi Fatka Rs. 10850/11175, Katni Fatka Rs. 10650/10850, Akola Rs. 10400/11600, Latur Fatka Rs. 11100/11300, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 10600/11200 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 10900/11300 per quintal.
