Weekly Review - Urad Prices Fall Due to Sluggish Demand
Chennai:
Urad prices in Chennai decreased this week due to increased selling pressure and weak demand. The availability of Desi Urad and limited demand for Urad dal kept buying from dal millers subdued, which led to a decline in prices. Urad prices fell by Rs 50-75 per quintal, with FAQ priced at Rs 8125 and SQ at Rs 8950 per quintal.
Kolkata:
In Kolkata, Urad prices also saw a decline of Rs 100 per quintal, with FAQ prices at Rs 8450 per quintal.
Burma:
Burma Urad prices also faced a drop due to weak export demand. The price of FAQ Urad fell by $15 per tonne, and SQ decreased by $15, bringing FAQ to $925 per tonne and SQ to $1020 per tonne by the weekend.
Delhi:
In Delhi, Urad prices dropped by Rs 25-50 per quintal, influenced by the fall in port prices and weaker demand from dal millers. FAQ Urad was priced at Rs 8400 and SQ at Rs 9500 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh:
In Madhya Pradesh, prices fell by Rs 50-100 per quintal due to increased selling pressure and weak buying. Prices in various markets were:
- Ashoknagar: Rs 5000/7500
- Jabalpur: Rs 5000/8000
- Kareli: Rs 6300/7500
- Damoh: Rs 5500/7700
- Indore: Rs 7500/8200 per quintal.
Maharashtra:
Maharashtra also saw a price reduction of Rs 100-200 per quintal due to sluggish demand. Prices in different markets were:
- Akola: Rs 8650
- Latur: Rs 6000/8400
- Solapur: Rs 6100/8300
- Dudhni: Rs 5500/8000
- Ahmednagar: Rs 5400/7700 per quintal.
Other Markets:
In Andhra Pradesh, Urad prices fell by Rs 200-250 per quintal due to the overall decline and lack of demand. Prices were:
- Krishna District: Rs 8350
- Vijayawada: Rs 8450 per quintal.
In Uttar Pradesh, Urad prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal, with the price at Rs 7800 per quintal in Chandausi.
Urad Dal:
Urad Dal prices also dropped by Rs 100-200 per quintal, reflecting sluggish buying activity. Current prices are:
- Delhi: Rs 10850/11750
- Bhatapara: Rs 10900/11000
- Jalgaon: Rs 11600
- Meerut: Rs 9500/10000
- Indore: Rs 10000/11700 per quintal.
