Urad prices continue to decline due to lack of demand

Chennai. Urad prices continued to decline during the current week. Urad could not get support due to improvement in arrival of summer urad in producing markets, continuous selling pressure and weak demand. Buying of urad gota and urad dal remained very limited, due to which urad prices are trading soft in the spot market. Due to increased selling by importers and weak buying, urad prices in Chennai market registered a decline of Rs 100/200 per quintal this week and by the weekend the price of FAQ urad came down to Rs 6750 and SQ urad to Rs 7450 per quintal. Similarly, in Mumbai market also, urad prices saw a decline of Rs 150 per quintal this week and prices came down to Rs 6950 per quintal.
Burma
Due to increased selling by exporters and weak buying, Burma Urad FAQ witnessed a decline of $ 5 and SQ witnessed a decline of $ 15 per tonne during the current week and with this decline, the price of FAQ remained at $ 775 per tonne and SQ at $ 845 per tonne at the weekend.
Delhi
Due to the impact of the port decline and the slow buying by the dal millers, the price of Urad in Delhi witnessed a decline of Rs 100/150 per quintal this week. And with this decline, the price remained at Rs 7100 for FAQ and Rs 7800 for SQ at the weekend.
Madhya Pradesh
The arrival of new summer Urad has started in Madhya Pradesh, due to which the selling pressure of stockists increased and this week the prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal and with this decline the prices remained at Rs 5000/7000 in Jabalpur, Rs 4500/7000 in Kareli and Rs 7000/7200 per quintal in Indore at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to weak demand from dal millers, the prices of Urad in Maharashtra declined by Rs 50/100 per quintal this week. And with this decline the prices remained at Rs 7300 in Akola, Rs 6000/7200 in Latur, Rs 6850/7200 in Jalgaon, Rs 5500/6500 in Barshi and Rs 5000/6500 per quintal at Ahmednagar at the weekend.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and sluggish demand, the price of Urad in Krishna District and Vijayawada declined by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and at the end of the week, the price remained at Rs. 7301 in Krishna District and Rs. 7200/7300 per quintal in Vijayawada. Similarly, Kota Urad also declined by Rs. 150 per quintal this week and remained at Rs. 4000/6650 per quintal at the end of the week.
Urad Dal
Due to the impact of the decline in Urad prices and sluggish demand, the price of Urad Dal declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and at the end of the week, the price remained at Rs. 9200/11300 in Delhi, Rs. 9300/9600 in Bhatapara, Rs. 9900/10000 in Jalgaon, Rs. 7900/8500 in Meerut and Rs. 9200/12500 per quintal in Indore.
