Delayed CFTC data shows that in the week ending October 28, speculators cut their net short position in Chicago wheat by a massive 33,692 contracts, bringing it down to 75,133 contracts.
In KC wheat, the net short position fell by 15,563 contracts to 51,708 contracts.
Export sales data for the week ending November 6 will be released Monday. Analysts expect wheat bookings between 250,000–600,000 tons.
The USDA will issue the monthly WASDE report on Tuesday. Bloomberg-surveyed analysts expect U.S. wheat ending stocks at 894 million bushels, 7 million bushels lower than last year, if the estimate is accurate.
According to FranceAgriMer, as of December 1, 99% of France’s soft wheat has been planted. The crop rating stands at 96% good/excellent, down 1 percentage point from the previous week.
