Chicago. According to the latest weekly crop review report of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), 68% of corn and soybean crops in America are in good or excellent condition.

As far as corn is concerned, the condition of the crop improved in four states during the last week, while the situation was somewhat weak in 17 provinces.

The condition of corn crop in the central part of the country is said to be good, while the weather in the western and northern regions was not completely favorable.

The five states with the best rating for corn crop are Nebraska, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa and Illinois as well as Pennsylvania, and the five provinces with the weakest rating are North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Tennessee and Minnesota.

As far as soybean is concerned, the condition of its 68% crop is also good or encouraging. During the week under review, improvement in crop condition was recorded in 6 states, while the condition remained weak in 9 provinces and there was no change in the condition of crop in 3 states.

Due to better weather in the eastern part, the condition of the crop improved whereas in the western and southern regions, the crop became somewhat weak.

The five states in which the condition of soybean crop was the best include Nebraska, Kansas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri.

Similarly, the five states with the weakest crop conditions include North Carolina, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kentucky and North Dakota as well as Tennessee.

Due to rain in some parts of America, the moisture content in the soil of the fields has increased more than required whereas in the southern region, there is an atmosphere of drought. Due to this, the condition of the crop has become somewhat weak.

New leaves are appearing in the soybean and maize plants and the process of flowering can start from next month.

There has been a tradition of the arrival of new maize stock from September and after that the preparation for harvesting of soybean crop also starts.
