Agriculture Ministry Confirms Record Wheat Production Forecast
★ India's Agriculture Ministry has not revised its March forecast and expects wheat production to reach 115.3 million tons.
★ This is 2% higher than the 113.3 million tons produced in the 2023/24 season.
★ Wheat harvesting has been completed in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, while it is in the final stages in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
★ As of April 1, wheat stocks in government granaries stood at 11.8 million tons, well above the government's target of 7.46 million tons.
★ This stock is 4 million tons higher compared to the same period last year.
