Hyderabad. Despite normal monsoon rains in Telangana, an important agricultural producing state of South India, the total production area under Kharif crops could reach only 74.66 lakh hectares by 31 July 2024, which is 9.14 lakh hectares less than the sowing area of 83.80 lakh hectares during the same period last year.
There has been a decrease in the area under almost all major crops there. According to the latest data of the State Agriculture Department, during the current Kharif season,

Telangana has received normal rains during the southwest monsoon this time, but on one hand, the gap between two rains was more and on the other hand, there is a lack of rain in some districts.
