भारत में मक्का आयात बढ़ने की उम्मीद
★ म्यांमार से हो सकता है 10 लाख टन से अधिक मक्का का आयात।
★ उद्योग का मानना है कि देश में 50 लाख टन मक्का की सप्लाई शोर्ट, जिसकी भरपाई आयात से की जाएगी।
★ जिस अनुपात में डिमांड बढ़ी उस अनुपात में नहीं बढ़ा उत्पादन।
★ म्यांमार के साथ साथ यूक्रेन से भी हो रहा है मक्का का आयात।
★ म्यांमार से मक्क्का 275-287$/टन CFR के भाव पर हो रही है जबकि घरेलू बाजारों में भाव 290$/टन के आसपास हैं।
★ म्यांमार से आयातित मक्का पर नहीं लगता आयात शुल्क परन्तु यूक्रेन से आयात पर 15% शुल्क वसूला जाता है, वह भी TRQ के तहत।
★ अभी हाल ही में सरकार ने TRQ के तहत 15% आयात शुल्क पर 5 लाख टन मक्का आयात की अनुमति दी थी।
★ अप्रैल से अगस्त तक 6.4 लाख टन मक्का का आयात हो चूका है।

Maize import expected to increase in India
★ More than 10 lakh tonnes of maize can be imported from Myanmar.
★ The industry believes that there is a supply short of 50 lakh tonnes of maize in the country, which will be compensated by imports.
★ Production did not increase in the same proportion as demand increased.
★ Maize is being imported from Ukraine along with Myanmar.
★ Maize is being imported from Myanmar at the rate of 275-287$/ton CFR, whereas in the domestic markets the price is around 290$/ton.
★ There is no import duty on maize imported from Myanmar, but 15% duty is charged on import from Ukraine, that too under TRQ.
★ Recently, the government had allowed the import of 5 lakh tonnes of maize at 15% import duty under TRQ.
★ 6.4 lakh tonnes of maize has been imported from April to August.
