Sao Paulo. Chinese importers imported large quantities of soybeans from the Latin American country of Brazil before the start of aggressive US purchases.

Customs data shows that during November 2025, soybean imports from Brazil to China jumped to 4.2 million tons, a 64 percent increase from November 2024.

Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of soybeans, accounting for approximately 70 percent of its soybean exports to China alone.

According to official sources, Brazil has achieved significant success in increasing soybean exports due to improved domestic supply and availability, and competitive prices.

China has now also begun purchasing soybeans from the United States, but contracts are currently being signed in small quantities.

It is noteworthy that soybean exports from Brazil are typically low in the final months of the year due to the off-season for supply and availability there.

The arrival of the new crop is not far off. Harvesting preparations for the new soybean crop begin in January and February. Brazilian soybean production increased to record levels in 2025, ensuring a healthy supply. China has remained the largest buyer of Brazilian soybeans for several years.

An export organization predicts significant shipments of soybeans from Brazil in December. Total exports are projected to reach 2.8 million tons in December 2025, a 90% increase compared to December 2024.

Furthermore, total soybean exports from Brazil during the entire period (January-December) of 2025 are expected to reach an all-time high of 110 million tons, significantly exceeding the total shipments of 97.3 million tons in 2024.
