Canada Market Update – Chickpea, Lentil & Pea Markets: Limited Upside, Supply Pressure Persists (Prices in INR)
★ The global pulses market remains balanced but under pressure. Demand is visible for good-quality chickpeas and select lentil segments, while pea markets continue to remain sluggish.

Kabuli Chickpeas
★ Demand remains steady for good-quality, large-sized chickpeas. Current prices are around $0.27–0.28/lb (₹49–51/kg) picked up on farm. New crop indications are near $0.26/lb (₹47/kg).
★ Globally, supply remains comfortable. Canada and the U.S. are expected to carry over a significant volume of lower-quality chickpeas into the next season, keeping pressure on the feed market. Feed-grade chickpeas are trading around $0.10–0.12/lb (₹18–22/kg).

★ Lentil markets are showing modest improvement in select quality segments.
★ Red Lentils: Spot prices are above $0.25/lb (₹45–46/kg), with some trades reaching ₹46–47/kg. New crop levels are around ₹43–44/kg.
