🇮🇳 Govt Approves Purchase of 37.39 Lakh Tonnes of Gram & Lentils at MSP

📢 Big Update: The Central Government has approved procurement of 37.39 lakh tonnes of gram and lentils for the Rabi season 2024-25 at Minimum Support Price (MSP).

📊 Key Procurement Details

✅ Total Approved Procurement:

  • Gram: 27.99 lakh tonnes

  • Lentils (Masur): 9.40 lakh tonnes

  • Mustard: 28.28 lakh tonnes

✅ Targeted States: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat & other major producing regions.

✅ Procurement Agencies:

  • NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.)

  • NCCF (National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd.)

✅ Payment Assurance: Farmers will receive payments within the stipulated time.

🌾 Additional Pulse Procurement Underway

🔹 Arhar (Tur): 2.46 lakh tonnes procured so far under Price Support Scheme (PSS).
🔹 Beneficiaries: 1.71 lakh farmers have already received MSP payments.
🔹 Extended Deadline: Karnataka’s procurement extended till May 1, 2025.
