Comfortable Availability of Pulses: Government of India
★ Since July 2024, there has been a gradual but significant improvement in the supply situation of major pulses like tur, urad, and chana, driven by favorable Kharif prospects and continuous imports.
★ Reports indicate a good tur crop, with early harvesting already underway in parts of Karnataka. This year, the overall availability of pulses has remained comfortable, bolstered by strong imports of tur, urad, chana, and yellow peas.
★ As of the first week of November 2024, imports of tur and urad have already reached 10 lakh metric tons (LMT) and 6.40 LMT, respectively, exceeding the total imports for the previous year.
★ Additionally, bulk shipments of chana from Australia are expected to begin arriving in November.

★ जुलाई 2024 से प्रमुख दालों जैसे तूर, उरद और चना की आपूर्ति स्थिति में धीरे-धीरे, लेकिन महत्वपूर्ण सुधार देखा गया है, इसके पीछे अच्छे खरीफ मौसम की संभावना और निरंतर आयातों का योगदान है।
★ तुवर की फसल अच्छी होने की रिपोर्ट, और कर्नाटक के कुछ क्षेत्रों में तूर की जल्दी कटाई भी शुरू।
★ इस वर्ष दालों की कुल उपलब्धता आरामदायक रही, जिसमें तूर, उरद, चना और पीली मटर के मजबूत आयातों शामिल हैं।
★ 2024 के कैलेंडर वर्ष के पहले सप्ताह तक तुवर और उड़द आयात क्रमशः 10 लाख टन और 6.40 लाख टन हो चूका है, पिछले वर्ष के पूरे वर्ष के आयात आंकड़ों से पहले ही अधिक।
★ ऑस्ट्रेलिया से चना के आयात भी नवंबर से बड़े पैमाने पर आने की उम्मीद है।
