Export sales for the week ending April 16 were reported at 1.316 MMT, a 3-week low but still 14.2% higher than the same week last year. South Korea was the largest buyer with 345,700 MT, followed by Japan with 324,200 MT, and 233,600 MT sold to unknown destinations. New crop sales totaled 440,110 MT, the second-largest for the current marketing year. All 2026/27 sales were made to Mexico.
South Korean importers also purchased 134,000 MT of corn in a private deal.
According to the International Grains Council, global corn production was reduced by 3 MMT from last month, while 2026/27 ending stocks were lowered by 2 MMT to 292 MMT.
