The EIA reported that ethanol production reached an all-time high of 1.123 million barrels per day, up 32,000 barrels per day from the previous week. This led to an increase in ethanol stocks by 288,000 barrels to a total of 22.655 million barrels as of October 31. Ethanol exports declined by 68,000 barrels per day to 107,000 bpd, while refiner inputs of ethanol were down 7,000 bpd to 904,000 bpd.
The government shutdown has now become the longest on record, as no export sales updates have been released for over a month. Still, analysts estimate that U.S. exporters sold between 0.8 and 2 million metric tons of corn during the week ending October 30.
