ICE cotton futures closed 29 to 36 points lower in the front months on Tuesday. On the same day, crude oil futures rose $1.76 per barrel to $63.90 after the US shot down an Iranian drone in the Arabian Sea. The US dollar index declined by 0.262 to 97.230.
Monday’s online auction on The Seam recorded sales of 8.955 bales at an average price of 56.99 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index fell another 15 points on January 30 to 73.80 cents. On February 2, ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 2 bales to a total of 34,228 bales. The Adjusted World Price was last updated at 50.23 cents per pound.
