Edible Oil Stocks Decrease at Indian Ports

Mumbai. Despite improved imports from abroad last month, gross edible oil imports at Indian ports fell by approximately 50 percent to 987,771 tonnes on October 15, 2025, from 997,846 tonnes on September 1. Clearance of imported oils increased slightly due to festive demand. Clearance of edible oil consignments at ports also remained at a good pace.
According to available data, during the period under review, stocks of crude palm oil (CPO) at ports increased by 5 percent from 491,537 tons to 516,880 tons, and crude degummed soybean oil increased by 4 percent from 268,255 tons to 279,874 tons.
However, stocks of RBD palmolein decreased by 22 percent from 22,113 tons to 17,224 tons, crude sunflower oil decreased by 19 percent from 195,398 tons to 157,546 tons, and stocks of other edible oils decreased by 21 percent from 20,543 tons to 16,247 tons. Due to the peak festival season in October, domestic consumption of edible oils increased.
According to information received, palm oil exports from Malaysia to India increased in September to the highest level in the last 11 months, with the majority of the quantity being crude palm oil. Palm oil imports from Indonesia were also robust.
Soy oil imports from Argentina continued uninterrupted. Edible oil stocks at Indian ports are considered normal.
