Guar prices likely to rise due to fear of heavy fall in production - Good yield of moong, moth

I-Grain India took information about Kharif crops in Rajasthan from Shripal Saraswat ji, one of the leading farmers of Rajasthan.
It was told that during the Kharif season of the year 2024, there is a possibility of a huge fall in production due to reduction in the sowing area of guar and reduction in the average yield rate in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Haryana. The market is expected to rise after the peak season of income ends.
According to trade calculations, till October 24, 2023, about 15 lakh quintals of guar had arrived in the mandis in the new season, whereas this year, according to the calculation till October 24, 2024, only about 5 lakh quintals of guar have arrived.
Last year, about 35 lakh quintals of guar were produced in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Haryana, which is estimated to be less than 15 lakh quintals this time.
Last year, farmers' guar was being sold at the rate of 5,300 to 5,500 rupees in Guar Mandi, which is around 5,000 rupees this time.
Farmers are being harmed by some people by speculating in Guar and despite a weak crop in the season, the work of selling the farmers' guar at cheap rates is being done by suppressing the prices in futures.
On the other hand, there has been a great production of moong in Rajasthan. This time, on one hand, there is a decline of about 50 percent in the arrival of guar compared to last year, while on the other hand, the supply of moong has increased by about 2-3 times.
The production of moth has also been good in the rainfed area, but the sowing of guar was also weak in the initial phase (June) this time and later, the canal farmers paid more attention to the cultivation of moong instead of sowing it again.
Shripal Saraswat Ji told that a similar situation had arisen in the year 2022, when there was a lot of fluctuation in the market. This time due to the excellent production of moong in Rajasthan, there is a huge inflow of it in the markets. Similarly, there are signs of better production of moth there.
Last year, after the drought for about 55 days from the last days of July to the first week of September, good rains started from the second week of September, which gave new life to the wasting crop of guar, but this time the month of September remained dry, which proved fatal for the rainfed crop.
As far as the current Rabi season is concerned, there will undoubtedly be intense competition between wheat, gram and mustard in Rajasthan, but looking at the price scenario, an analyst believes that in terms of priority of sowing area in the state, gram can remain at number one and wheat at second place,
while there is no possibility of much fluctuation in the area of mustard. One problem is that the water reserves in dams and reservoirs are low, which can cause difficulty in irrigating Rabi crops. There was less rain in Himachal Pradesh, due to which the water level in the dams of Rajasthan decreased.
Rajasthan is the most prominent producer of moong, guar and mustard, while wheat and gram are also produced there on a large scale.
The government has increased the support price of Rabi crops substantially. The price of wheat and gram is running at an attractive level.
The weather in October was not completely favorable for sowing mustard in Rajasthan, due to which mustard sowing has been affected.
In previous years, mustard sowing used to start in western Rajasthan at the beginning of October, which is running late this year.
