Jakarta. The Indonesian government stated that palm oil export earnings in the first nine months of the current calendar year increased by approximately 52 percent compared to the same period last year, driven by high global market prices.

According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), export shipments of palm oil products saw double-digit growth and high offer prices.

This marked the 65th consecutive month of strong performance for Indonesian palm oil exports. The upward trend in shipments and earnings has continued since May 2020.

According to the BPS, Indonesia exported crude palm oil and its products worth $18.14 billion in the first nine months of the current year, January to September 2025, representing a 32.40 percent increase from $13.70 billion in the same period in 2024.

Similarly, during the period under review, the export volume of palm oil products from Indonesia also increased by 11.62 percent from 157.50 lakh tonnes to 175.80 lakh tonnes. Palm oil products accounted for 9.08 percent of the total exports from Indonesia till September this year, excluding petroleum products and natural gas.

However, compared to August, there was much less stock of palm oil available at Indonesian ports at the end of September. Due to this, the export performance of October is likely to be somewhat weak.

In any case, compared to August, the export of palm oil products from Indonesia during September declined by 46 percent to 13.80 lakh tonnes.
