ICE cotton futures weakened on Wednesday, with most contracts down 2 to 7 points, while some 2026 crop contracts were up 4 to 9 points. Crude oil futures rose 31 cents per barrel to $60.67, while the U.S. dollar index increased by 0.146 to 98.585.
In Tuesday’s online auction by The Seam, 25,238 bales of cotton were sold at an average price of 61.10 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index was unchanged on January 20 at 74.80 cents. On January 20, ICE certified cotton stocks declined by 607 bales due to decertification, bringing total certified stocks down to 10,422 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated last Thursday to 51.17 cents per pound, up 20 points from the previous week.
