ICE cotton futures closed the Thursday session with nearby contracts down 38 to 41 points. Crude oil futures fell 95 cents per barrel to $59.67, while the U.S. dollar index declined by 0.473 to 98.090.
Wednesday’s online auction on The Seam showed sales of 17,692 bales at an average price of 59.15 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index was down 25 points on January 21 to 74.55 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were unchanged on January 21 at 10,422 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated Thursday afternoon to 50.99 cents per pound, down 18 points from the previous week.
