Rainfall forecasts for the upcoming week indicate 1 to 3 inches across most of the SRW region. The HRW region remains relatively dry, with some exceptions in the eastern parts of the Southern Plains.
USDA's export sales data released this morning showed that total sales for the 2024/25 crop reached only 100,325 metric tons (MT) for the week ending March 20. However, this was still higher than last week's net reduction. Japan was the largest buyer with 72,000 metric tons, followed by Nigeria with 53,400 metric tons. A net reduction of 125,500 metric tons was recorded for unknown destinations, most of which were redirected to known buyers. New crop wheat sales fell short of the estimated range of 100,000 to 300,000 metric tons, coming in at just 11,200 metric tons.
Taiwanese importers purchased a total of 100,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat overnight.
According to estimates from the European Commission, EU soft wheat production for the 2025/26 season is expected to reach 126.5 million metric tons (MMT), significantly higher than the previous year's 111.8 MMT. Ending stocks for 2025/26 are projected at 7.3 MMT, down from the estimated 9.4 MMT for 2024/25.
