According to USDA’s FGIS, wheat export shipments for the week ending January 15 totaled 392,661 metric tons (14.43 million bushels). This was 23.48% higher than the previous week and 49.97% above the same week last year. Mexico was the top destination with 110,660 MT, followed by Japan with 82,764 MT and Taiwan with 54,455 MT. For the 2025/26 marketing year, total wheat exports since June 1 have reached 15.975 MMT (586.96 million bushels), up 19.84% from the same period last year.
According to NOAA’s 7-day QPF, widespread precipitation is expected from the Southern Plains to the East Coast, which should help improve soil moisture over the next week.
On Monday, Saudi Arabia purchased a total of 907,000 MT of wheat in a tender, while Algeria also purchased an estimated 600,000 MT in a separate tender. European Commission data showed wheat exports from July 1 to January 15 at 11.8 MMT, slightly below the 12 MMT exported during the same period last year.
