Limited Fluctuations Expected in Domestic Sugar Prices

Mumbai:  Sugar mills in the country's major producing states are continuing their vigorous sugarcane crushing operations, indicating a good increase in sugar production.

Supply and availability in the domestic market remain comfortable, while there is no significant increase in demand and consumption.

Sugar prices in the open market are relatively stable within a narrow range, with limited fluctuations, and a significant price increase in the near future seems unlikely.

A domestic sales quota of 22.50 lakh tonnes of sugar has been released for February, which is sufficient to meet demand and consumption.

There are no major festivals or holidays approaching. Some demand is expected from the wedding season, which will likely prevent a decline in sugar prices.

The weather is changing. If temperatures rise in the coming days, manufacturers of cold drinks and ice cream may show increased interest in purchasing sugar. It is understood that some purchases have already been made at lower prices.

The global market conditions are not entirely favorable for sugar exports from India. The sugar production season in Brazil has almost ended, and the next season will begin in April, but despite this, global sugar prices are not rising.
