Malaysian palm oil exports expected to rise sharply in July

Kuala Lumpur. Although the official data of the government body - Malaysian Palm Oil Board (Ampob) is expected to be released on August 12,
before that the data released by two leading cargo surveyor firms shows that Malaysian palm oil exports saw a spectacular increase in July as compared to June.
According to data from Amspec, an independent cargo surveyor company, Malaysia exported 11,88,180 tonnes of palm oil products in June which increased to 15,55,529 tonnes in July. Under this,
the export of crude palm oil (CPO) jumped from 2,96,201 tonnes to 4,09,972 tonnes, RBD palm oil export increased from 1,00,724 tonnes to 1,47,990 tonnes,
RBD palmolein increased from 4,03,858 tonnes to 4,77,014 tonnes, RBD palm styrene increased from 80,750 tonnes to 1,41,918 tonnes, crude palm kernel oil increased from 29,770 tonnes to 41,850 tonnes and palm fatty acid distillate export improved from 49,611 tonnes to 55,010 tonnes.
Similarly, another cargo surveyor firm - Intertek Testing Services (ITS) has estimated the export of Malaysian palm oil to increase from 13,06,689 tonnes in June to 16,04,578 tonnes in July.
According to ITS data, during the period under review, shipment of crude palm oil jumped from 2.77 lakh tonnes to 3.95 lakh tonnes,
RBD palm oil increased from 1,28,190 tonnes to 1,62,510 tonnes, RBD palmolein improved from 3,66,895 tonnes to 4,31,348 tonnes,
RBD palm styrene jumped from 78,655 tonnes to 1,39,365 tonnes, crude palm kernel oil exports increased from 24,290 tonnes to 35,750 tonnes and shipment of palm fatty acid distillate increased from 41,300 tonnes to 51,910 tonnes.
