Many mills of Uttar Pradesh have started crushing sugarcane: Sugarcane and Sugar Commissioner
The sugarcane crushing season has officially started in Uttar Pradesh, with a significant number of sugar mills already up and running. According to the Sugarcane and Sugar Commissioner, 102 mills in total have issued indents for the purchase of sugarcane, with crushing operations already underway at 90 of these mills.

Here's a breakdown of the progress:

Saharanpur Region: 18 out of 19 mills have begun crushing.
Meerut Region: All 16 mills are operational.
Bareilly Region: 11 out of 17 mills are crushing sugarcane.
Moradabad Region: 22 out of 23 mills have started the crushing process.
Other Regions: Crushing has also commenced in mills across Lucknow, Ayodhya, Devipatan, and Deoria regions.
Additionally, 12 mills are in the final stages of preparation and are expected to begin crushing within the next two to three days, completing the full scale-up of operations for this season.

This early start in crushing is crucial for the timely processing of sugarcane and the production of sugar in the state, which is one of the largest producers of sugarcane in India.
