Myanmar Export Update

★ Tuvar and Urad exports from Myanmar decreased in October.

★ This export was the lowest import in any month from January to October.

★ According to OATA, in October, 62,379 tonnes of Urad and only 11,430 tonnes of Tuvar were exported from Myanmar.

★ Total Urad import from January to October was 7.77 lakh tonnes and Tuvar import was 2.78 lakh tonnes.

★ On an average, Urad import per month reached 77,774.4 tonnes and Tuvar import reached 27,863.849 tonnes, but this import seems to be lagging behind in October.

★ In May 2024, the highest export of 1,02,661.87 tonnes of Urad and 40,572 tonnes of Tuvar was recorded from Myanmar in any month of the current year.

★ Myanmar exported a good amount throughout the year, at present the sowing of Tuvar in Myanmar is nearing completion and Urad is in full swing.

★ India signed an agreement on 18 June 2021 for 2.5 lakh tonnes of Urad and 1 lakh tonnes of Tuvar per year till the year 2025-26 under the MOU agreement.

★ After the MOU, both the production and export of Tuvar and Urad in Myanmar saw an increase.
