Mandalay. Myanmar, a key producer and exporter of tuvar and urad, is maintaining a steady supply of both pulses to India.
According to data from Myanmar's leading trade body, the Overseas Agri Trade Association (OATA), more than 97 thousand tonnes of pulses were exported to India in April 2025. This included around 43 thousand tonnes of tuvar and approximately 55 thousand tonnes of urad.

Although moong was also exported in significant quantities from Myanmar, it was not shipped to India due to an ongoing import ban on moong in India for over three years.
During April 2025, Myanmar exported 49,296 tonnes of moong to China, 8,731 tonnes to Indonesia, and 6,605 tonnes to Vietnam. India remained the largest importer of urad and tuvar.
