★ Pea prices are expected to remain under pressure until after the New Year.
★ Statistics Canada has estimated Canada’s 2025/26 dry pea production at 3.93 million tonnes, up 31% year-on-year, driven by higher area and better yields.
★ Rising supply, along with trade barriers such as China’s tariffs and India’s reimposed import duties, has capped price upside.
★ Over the past week, green pea prices fell by 75 cents and yellow peas by 50 cents per bushel across western Canada.
★ Some support may come from alternative domestic markets, but overall upside remains limited in the near term.
