News Capsule: CCI Procures ₹12,823 Crore Worth Cotton in Telangana
★ The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has procured 16.15 lakh tonnes of cotton from 8.80 lakh farmers in Telangana during the 2025-26 kharif marketing season, with a total value of ₹12,823 crore. Cotton was cultivated across 18.21 lakh hectares in the State this year.
★ The State Agriculture Minister said that around 10 lakh tonnes of cotton are yet to be sold and urged farmers to bring the remaining produce to market yards at the earliest.
★ Due to a delayed crop season, arrivals were late. To provide relief to farmers, CCI has extended the procurement deadline till February 27.
