News Capsule: Cotton Sales to Begin From Next Week
★ CCI has so far procured 8 million bales of cotton. This procurement has mainly been carried out in Telangana and Maharashtra.
★ Cotton sales may begin from 19 January. Procurement is still ongoing in Telangana and Maharashtra.
★ Purchases are being made at MSP, and due to lower production and the imposition of import duty, cotton prices have increased.
★ Sales by CCI may create some short-term pressure on prices, however, cotton prices are likely to remain firm in the future.
