News Capsule: Ivory Coast – Cashew Exports on the Rise
★ Ivory Coast is expected to witness a sharp increase in exports of locally processed cashew kernels in 2025. The value of processed cashew exports is projected to reach 350 billion CFA francs (around $632.3 million) in 2025, up from 209 billion CFA francs in 2024. This growth is largely attributed to the expansion in domestic processing capacity.
★ According to the cashew regulator, processed cashew exports in 2025 may rise to around 660,000 tonnes from 344,000 tonnes in 2024.
★ Raw cashew nut production in 2025 is estimated at 1.5 million tonnes. By mid-December, raw cashew exports had reached about 852,000 tonnes, with Vietnam and India accounting for the bulk of shipments.
★ Despite market uncertainties, strong demand from Asian buyers is expected to keep Ivory Coast’s cashew sector firm in the coming period.
