News Capsule: MoU on Pulses Imports to Be Announced Soon
★ During the South Asia Agri Forum 2026 held in Yangon, Myanmar, Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, made an important statement.
★ She said that the Government of India is likely to announce a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the import of pulses for the next five years in the near future. The proposed MoU aims to ensure stability in pulses supply, reduce price volatility in the domestic market, and provide long-term policy clarity to consumers as well as the trade and industry.
