News Capsule: Record Pace in CCI Cotton Procurement
★ The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has significantly accelerated cotton procurement under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. According to data available on the CCI portal, total cotton procurement stood at 72.89 lakh quintals as of November 28, 2025, which increased sharply to 170.00 lakh quintals by December 12, 2025.
★ This means that within just 10 working days, CCI procured around 20 lakh bales of cotton. During this period, the average daily procurement rate was about 200,000 bales, marking one of the fastest procurement paces in the current season.
★ The rapid procurement has provided strong MSP support to cotton farmers. It is also expected to ease supply pressure in mandis and help bring stability to cotton prices.
